LINDA L. (THORNTON) RESENDEZ, 61 LOVING WIFE, DAUGHTER, MOTHER AND GAMMY
ROCKTON - Linda L. (Thornton) Resendez, 61, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, in her home. Born July 28, 1947 in Belvidere, the daughter of Robert and Ramona Thornton. She graduated from Belvidere High School. Married Philip G. Resendez on April 29, 1967. She was employed at Rockford Memorial Hospital in the medical records department. Linda was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and gammy. Her life revolved around her family, especially her five grandchildren, with a grandson on the way. She was an incredibly caring and generous person, always helping others. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include husband, Philip; mother, Ramona Thornton; daughters, Andrea (Vince) Bowers, Carrie (Luke) Bufalo, Melissa Resendez (Delano Hicks); grandchildren, Marisa, Alison, Daniel, Marina and Mariahn; brother, Larry (Mona) Thornton; sister, Diane (Randy) Hall; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Predeceased by father, Robert Thornton; sister, Cynthia Culvey; and nephew, Jeffrey Fowler. Service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., with the Rev. Dr. William R. Kerr Sr. officiating. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery.
