James R. Flemming, 47

James R. Flemming of Garden Prairie died September 23, 1994, at Highland Hospital Extended Care facility following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 28, 1946, in Belvidere, the son of Robert J. and Ruby (Downing) Flemming.

Mr. Flemming was a lifelong resident of Boone County. He was employed by General Power and Equipment in Harvard, Illinois. He attended Belvidere schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1966-67.

He is survived by his mother, Ruby, Belvidere; a stepson, Shiloh Lee Eklund, a brother, Robert (Jan) Flemming of Rockford; a sister, Roberta (Robert) Turner of Belvidere; nieces and nephews, Robert E. Turner, Chris Flemming, Jill Turner and Tanya Flemming; and special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Rolander and family.

He was predeceased by his father and grandparents.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Monday in the Belvidere Funeral Home. The Rev. John Wesley Lee, pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Lawrenceville cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Boone County Cancer Society or Highland Hospital Extended Care.
